ESSEX COMPANY PAVES THE WAY
FOR FUTURE ENGINEERING TALENT
DC Electronics – leading specialists in high quality, reliable and innovative electrical systems for the motorsport industry – is helping to pave the way for future industry professionals. On Thursday 21 January and Thursday 4 February, the company will be playing host to participants of the industry-renowned Formula Student competition and providing two wiring loom workshops that will assist them in claiming the title.
The initiative challenges mechanical engineering students to design and build their own single seater racing car and compete in an annual competition hosted at Silverstone in July. Formula Student is run by the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE), in partnership with various well known companies in the industry.
The students will be visiting DC Electronics’ workshop from specialist universities all over the world in order to attend the free master-class. The enthusiastic candidates can expect to learn how to design and build completely bespoke, and hopefully winning, wiring harnesses in preparation for the event.
Not only is DC Electronics offering students the opportunity to learn from the best in the business, the company will also be providing discounts on wiring products and all hardware from companies such as Cosworth, DTA, MoTeC, OBR, Race Technology and Stack.
David Cunliffe, Director and Co-founder of DC Electronics, comments: “This is a fantastic initiative and we feel it is really important to be a part of it. This competition is often the highlight of the year for young engineers and we are excited to have the opportunity to help educate the next generation of professionals. I look forward to seeing the teams battle it out at Silverstone in the summer.”
